So, I can hear the whistle better then the dogs. Unfortunately it is audible for humans, and it hurts my ears. I will be giving it to my friend who trains dogs to see her take on it, but for me, i could pass. it might work well for hiking though, i will test it a little more distance wise with my husband before giving it to a dog trainer. I did receive this in exchange for an honest review.
